About Me
Proprietor – Katrina Pippen
I grew up in Western Sydney and completed a BA majoring in Human Geography at Macquarie University. I commenced work at Holroyd City Council in 1990 as the Trainee Town Planner. While continuing to work and raise a family I went on to complete a Graduate Diploma in Urban & Regional Planning at the University of New England.

At Holroyd Council I worked my way up to Senior Planner, Development Services Co-ordinator and Executive Planner. In my 20 years there I assessed, and determined under delegated authority, countless DAs for all types of projects – low, medium and high density housing, mixed use developments, childcare centres, new commercial and industrial buildings, shop, office, warehouse and factory uses, signage, club extensions, alterations to churches, subdivisions, etc.
In 2010 I moved to Gloucester, in the beautiful Upper Hunter region, for a Tree Change. I worked in Real Estate for a short time but decided that my Town Planning knowledge and skills would be better utilised in my own consultancy.

I started up KP Planning in 2012 and have worked on more than 400 projects, with a 95% approval rate.

I work closely with the client / architect during the design stage to ensure that planning issues are addressed 'up front'. Ultimately this results in a quicker turnaround time when the DA is submitted to Council.
